Community Development Director

The City of Evansville, WI (www.ci.evansville.wi.gov) seeks a Community Development Director. This is a key Department Head member of the City’s Leadership Team. The Director reports to the City Administrator/Finance Director and works collaboratively with the Plan Commission, Economic Development Committee, Evansville Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism to foster the City’s urban growth, entrepreneurial spirit and reputation for quality of life. Responsibilities include successful monitoring of code enforcement activities, planning, historic preservation, implementing traditional neighborhood-focused growth and being a friendly point of contact for new business applicants. Additional duties include review of zoning applications, implementation of business retention/recruitment/expansion strategies, community marketing programs, tourism marketing, monitor agreements for compliance and facilitating long-range strategic planning of the City. Requirements include three to five years of experience in urban design, architecture, economic development, business education and/or strategic planning. A degree in business, architecture, urban design, land use planning, or related field. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Salary starting at $75,000 to $80,000 annually dependent upon qualifications. This is an FLSA exempt and non-represented position.
