Economic Development Coordinator

The Economic Development Coordinator position will perform responsible coordination and analytical work in facilitating and implementing a comprehensive economic development strategy for the City of Janesville. The Economic Development Coordinator conducts research related to economic development; prepares reports and recommendations to elected and appointed City officials on matters related to economic development initiatives; and responds to requests for information such as market data, tax structure, and economic incentive possibilities and procedures.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree planning, economic development, marketing, business administration or a closely related field is required.  A minimum of two (2) years of professional economic development or planning experience and a valid state-issued driver’s license is required.  Experience in development-related activities or grant procurement and administration, highly desirable. CEcD, EDFP, or AICP certification a plus.    

The starting salary range for this position is $56,500 - $60,375, with the opportunity to earn up to a 5% merit increase after six months based on job performance. The City offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System (50% City-paid), health insurance including medical, dental, and vision coverage (also available to dependents), and life insurance. The City also offers paid vacation, holidays, sick leave, and professional memberships. Residency in the city limits of Janesville is not required.
