*WEDC is a Wisconsin-based organization, with a remote-work first environment. Remote work is intended to be performed in the State of Wisconsin.

 

Position Summary

The Rural Development Senior Coordinator supports work being created to implement the Thrive Rural Wisconsin grant. This will be accomplished through supporting the Rural Development Director in providing technical assistance, research, and grants management support to advance the capacity of rural communities to apply for state and federal funding. The Rural Development Senior Coordinator will provide targeted research and skill building guidance to selected communities, support communities in applying for WEDC grants, and manage grant tracking and compliance with partner communities. The Rural Development Specialist will create case studies of participating communities and document technical assistance and success stories from the Thrive Rural Wisconsin program. Grant research and resource navigation will also be a priority for this role. This project-based role is not to exceed twenty-two months.

 

Responsibilities

The Rural Development Senior Coordinator will spend a majority of their time in these activities:

  • Provide technical assistance, support, and skills training to impacted rural and Tribal communities.
  • Manage CRM updates and provide data management support for the Thrive Rural Wisconsin program
  • Facilitate meetings with external partners
  • Identify resources and assist communities in obtaining funding to carry out the identified initiatives
  • Plan meetings and events that support peer learning, provide training, and create readiness for rural communities to secure state and federal funding
  • Track progress and collect stories that demonstrate community progress and document program successes
  • Manage grant compliance and reporting for WEDC capacity grants with partner organizations
  • Support WEDC’s mission through the fulfillment of other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience and training.
  • Minimum of 4 years of project implementation experience.
  • General understanding of program management
  • Experience in economic development or rural capacity building

 

Skills and Talents:     

  • Understanding of administrative processes and project planning.
  • Ability to manage data in Salesforce or similar CRM/database system.
  • Proficient in grant tracking, compliance, and reporting process.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports and stakeholder correspondence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Skill in generating, analyzing, and presenting data reports for decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members  and external partners.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data for reporting and strategic planning.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

 

Other Requirements:

  • State-wide travel will occur on a frequent basis, around 30% of the time.  Travel is anticipated to include day and overnight travel.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance that meets minimum state requirements are required.
  • This position is eligible for reimbursement according to the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program.  This position requires the employee to provide a mobile device that allows for phone, text, and email access.
  • Based on the responsibilities of this position, this position may need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
